Davar Terms of Service
Last updated: April 30, 2026
Plain-language draft. Legal-counsel review pending.
1. Welcome and acceptance
Welcome to Davar Communities. These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Solomon Websites Inc. (“Davar,” “we,” “us”), the company that operates the Davar Communities platform at davarcommunities.com.
By creating an account, clicking “I attest,” subscribing to a community, or otherwise using Davar, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Davar.
We have written these Terms in plain English wherever the law lets us. Where we use a defined term in quotation marks, we mean the specific thing we describe -- not anything broader.
2. Who we are
Davar Communities is a product of Solomon Websites Inc., a Canadian corporation. References in these Terms to “Davar” mean Solomon Websites Inc. doing business as Davar Communities.
You can reach us any time at support@davarcommunities.com. We aim to respond to support requests within 48 hours on business days.
3. Who can use Davar
To create an account or subscribe to a community, you must:
- be at least 18 years old;
- be legally able to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction;
- not be located in, or a resident of, a country or region subject to comprehensive sanctions or otherwise restricted under the payment policies of our processor (Stripe). The current Stripe restricted-categories list controls; we may update the list at any time as Stripe updates theirs;
- not have been previously suspended or removed from Davar by us.
Community leaders may set additional eligibility rules for their own communities, including age minimums above 18, geographic limits, and prerequisites tied to their ministry context. Those rules apply on top of these Terms.
4. Accounts
You sign in to Davar using Google, Apple, or a magic-link email. We do not use traditional passwords; there is nothing to share or forget. You are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in method secure -- if your Google or Apple account is compromised, your Davar account is compromised.
You may not share your account, transfer it, or let someone else sign in as you. Each human who uses Davar should have their own account. If you discover unauthorized access to your account, tell us right away at support@davarcommunities.com.
You can deactivate or fully delete your account at any time. Full deletion is self-serve at /delete-account. Deleting your account removes your profile and your personally identifying data from active systems; community content you created may remain visible inside the communities where you posted it, attributed to a deleted-user placeholder, unless the relevant community leader chooses to remove it.
5. Community ownership and leader responsibilities
Davar provides the infrastructure -- hosting, payments, messaging, moderation tools, and the dashboard. You provide the community. When you publish a community on Davar, you (the “Leader”) are responsible for what happens inside it.
That includes:
- setting your community’s rules, expectations, and tone;
- moderating content and conduct in your community, including acting on flagged posts and on member reports;
- handling refund requests from your members at your discretion (see Section 8);
- answering member questions about your offering, your schedule, your pricing, and your conduct rules;
- complying with all laws that apply to you and your community, including consumer-protection and tax laws in the jurisdictions where your members live;
- ensuring that any third-party content you post (Scripture quotations, music, images, video) is licensed appropriately for your use.
Davar is not your business partner, your employer, or your ecclesiastical authority. We provide the platform. You run the community.
6. Member responsibilities
As a member of a community on Davar, you agree to participate in good faith. That means:
- following the rules of the communities you join, in addition to these Terms;
- treating other members and the leader with basic respect, even when you disagree;
- not harassing, threatening, doxxing, or targeting other members;
- not posting illegal content, content that infringes someone else’s rights, or content that violates Section 10;
- keeping disputes with leaders in the appropriate channel -- direct message the leader first; escalate to Davar only when something violates these Terms or the law.
7. Content and intellectual property
7.1 Your content
You keep ownership of everything you post on Davar -- your writing, your audio, your video, your images, your community structure. We do not claim authorship of your work.
To run the platform, you grant Davar a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, transmit, display, and adapt your content solely as needed to operate, secure, back up, and improve Davar. This license ends when you remove the content, subject to reasonable backup retention windows.
7.2 Export
You can export your content at any time. Leaders can export their community’s posts and member roster. Members can export their own posts and messages. Export tooling is available in your account settings.
7.3 Archive grace and hard delete
When a community is closed -- whether by the Leader or by Davar for cause -- the community enters a 90-day archive window. During that window, the Leader can reactivate the community, export content, and download member records. After 90 days, the archive is hard-deleted from active systems. Backup snapshots age out under our standard retention schedule.
7.4 Davar’s content
The Davar name, logo, software, designs, and platform copy are owned by Solomon Websites Inc. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works of Davar’s own materials without our written permission, except as the law expressly permits.
8. Payments and subscriptions
8.1 Leader plan
Each community published on Davar costs $99 USD per month, billed to the Leader. Davar is the Merchant of Record for the Leader plan. We charge your card; we provide the receipt; we handle chargebacks.
Your first community on Davar includes a 14-day free trial. Additional communities you publish under the same account are billed at $99/month each, with no additional trial.
8.2 Member subscriptions
When a Leader charges members for access to a community, Davar processes those payments using Stripe Connect Express. Davar acts as Merchant of Record for the platform-level transaction; Stripe handles separate charges and transfers under our Connect platform configuration.
Davar takes 0% of the member subscription. The full member price flows to the Leader. Davar absorbs Stripe’s standard processing fees on member subscriptions out of its own platform revenue.
8.3 Cancellation
You may cancel any subscription at any time. Cancellation is self-serve from your account settings, for both Leaders cancelling their plan and members cancelling a community subscription. When you cancel, you keep access through the end of the period you have already paid for; you will not be charged again.
8.4 Refunds
Refunds are not self-serve. Refund decisions belong to the Leader of the community in question. If you are a member and want a refund, send a direct message to your community Leader and describe what happened. The Leader will decide based on their own stated refund policy, the circumstances, and their judgment.
Davar reserves an administrative override on refunds in cases of fraud, payment-card compromise, platform error, or extraordinary circumstances. Outside those cases, Davar does not overrule a Leader’s refund decision.
8.5 Taxes
Where Davar is required to collect sales tax, VAT, or GST/HST as part of a transaction, we will add it to the price you see at checkout and remit it to the relevant authority. Leaders are responsible for the income, business, and self-employment taxes that apply to their own earnings.
9. Statement of Faith attestation
Davar is a Christian platform. To publish a community on Davar, the Leader must affirm Davar’s Statement of Faith at the point of publishing. The Statement of Faith is intentionally ecumenical and is published at /legal/statement-of-faith.
Members are not required to attest. Anyone who can lawfully use Davar, who agrees to these Terms, and who follows the rules of the communities they join is welcome as a member.
Attesting in bad faith -- attesting while affirmatively rejecting the Statement of Faith -- is a violation of these Terms and may result in the removal of any community you publish.
10. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Davar to:
- break the law in your jurisdiction or in ours;
- harass, threaten, stalk, dox, or incite violence against any person or group;
- post, host, or transmit child sexual abuse or exploitation material (CSAE/CSAM). We report such material to the appropriate authorities and remove it on sight;
- post non-consensual intimate imagery or sexually explicit material;
- spam or send unsolicited bulk messages, in posts or via within-community direct messages;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with a person or organization;
- sell or promote weapons, controlled substances, gambling services, or anything else prohibited by Stripe’s restricted-businesses list;
- distribute malware, run automated abuse, or attempt to break into Davar’s systems or other users’ accounts;
- scrape, mass-download, or systematically harvest data from Davar without our written permission.
Direct messaging on Davar is community-scoped at launch -- you can DM other members of communities you both belong to, not strangers across the platform. Even where future product changes relax that scoping, the spirit of the rule -- no platform-wide cold outreach -- remains in force.
11. Moderation
Davar uses a 3-flag auto-hide model. When three distinct members flag the same post or comment, the content is automatically hidden from public view pending Leader review. Leaders can unhide, remove, or escalate hidden content. Leaders also have their own first-party moderation tools (remove, mute, ban) inside their communities.
Davar reserves an administrative override across all communities. We may remove content, hide content, suspend accounts, or close communities when we believe these Terms or the law have been violated, when payment fraud is suspected, or when continued access creates a serious safety risk.
At launch, Davar does not operate a formal appeals process. We will revisit appeals once we have enough operational context to run them well. In the interim, you can email support@davarcommunities.com to raise a concern; we read every message.
12. Privacy
How we collect, use, and share information is described in our Privacy Policy. By using Davar, you agree to the practices described there.
13. Termination
You may stop using Davar at any time. You can cancel any subscription from your account settings. You can delete your account from /delete-account.
Davar may suspend or terminate your account or any community for cause, including but not limited to: violations of these Terms, violations of our acceptable-use rules, payment fraud or chargebacks, attestation in bad faith, or a serious risk to other members. Where reasonable, we will tell you why.
On termination, the 90-day archive grace described in Section 7 applies, after which the relevant content is hard-deleted.
14. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Davar is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
We do not warrant that any community on Davar will succeed, that any Leader will deliver what they promise, or that any spiritual or pastoral outcome will follow from your use of the platform. Communities are run by Leaders, not by Davar.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Davar’s total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the platform will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid Davar in the 12 months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100). Neither party will be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, or data, even if advised of the possibility.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by law.
15. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Solomon Websites Inc., Davar Communities, and our officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your content on Davar; (b) your use of Davar; (c) your violation of these Terms; (d) your violation of any law or third-party right; and (e) if you are a Leader, the conduct of your community, including disputes with your members and refund or chargeback claims tied to your community.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The courts located in Toronto, Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that is not subject to mandatory consumer-protection rules in your home jurisdiction. Where mandatory local rules apply, those rules control.
Before filing any formal claim, you agree to first contact us at support@davarcommunities.com and to attempt in good faith to resolve the issue informally for at least 30 days.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in-product. Your continued use of Davar after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to a revision, your remedy is to stop using Davar and, if you wish, delete your account.
