  • What’s Davar Communities?

A platform built for Christian leaders — pastors, coaches, teachers, counselors, ministers — who want a home for their community where the dashboard counts lives changed instead of revenue. Communities live here, courses live here, conversation lives here, and we don’t take a cut of what your members pay you.

The name Davar is Hebrew for word. We unpack that on our philosophy page.

  • Who is this for?

Christian leaders whose primary tool is words. Pastors starting a discipleship cohort. Coaches who’ve been told to “build a funnel” for ten years and want to measure something that matters. Counselors moving from one-on-one to small-group. Authors who want a real space around their book. Teachers who want their classroom to be year-round.

You agree to a Statement of Faith when you start a community (read it here). We’re Protestant in voice and evangelical / charismatic-friendly in default content, but Catholic and Orthodox leaders are not excluded.

  • How is this different from Skool / Circle / Mighty Networks?

Architecture, mostly. Those platforms were built around entrepreneurs counting revenue, members, and activity. Davar was built around leaders counting transformation, belonging, and stories of change. We replaced the like with the thank-you. We replaced the leaderboard with Who Needs You Today.

Same kind of platform on the surface. Different platform underneath. Read our philosophy if you want the longer version.

  • Why “Davar”? What does it mean?

Davar (דבר) is the Hebrew word for word — and also for thing. In the biblical imagination, speech and reality aren’t separate. When God spoke creation into being (Genesis 1), the word was davar. When a leader speaks transformation into a life — under God, through the Spirit — that’s davar too.

Full theological background lives on our philosophy page. Short version: the name names a vocation. Words do something.

  • Do you take a cut?

Of what your members pay you? No. 0%. Davar takes nothing from member subscriptions. They go to your Stripe account, not ours. Stripe’s standard processing fees apply on those member payments — we don’t mark them up.

The platform fee is a flat $99/month (or $990/year) per community. That’s the whole pricing story. Full breakdown lives on /pricing.

  • What happens during the 14-day trial?

You get full access to build out your community — create courses, set up the dashboard, design the welcome flow. The 14 days starts when you create the community, not when you publish. If you publish and don’t cancel, you’re billed at the end of the trial. If you don’t publish, no charge.

One trial per Davar customer record — second-and-onward communities start billing immediately. By then you know what you’re doing.

  • What if I’m not Christian, or not part of any specific tradition?

Then this probably isn’t the right home for you, and we’d rather be honest about that than waste your time. Davar is a Christian platform. Leaders sign a Statement of Faith. The default voice, the default content, the default language all assume Christian framing. Members of a community do not have to be Christian — that’s the leader’s call — but the platform itself is.

  • Can Catholics, Orthodox, or Protestants of any flavor use this?

Yes. The Statement of Faith is grounded in core Christian orthodoxy — not denominational specifics. Catholic leaders, Orthodox leaders, and Protestants across the tradition (evangelical, mainline, charismatic, Reformed) are welcome. Our voice leans toward evangelical and charismatic-friendly because that’s where Dean’s own work has lived — but the platform doesn’t gatekeep your tradition.

  • What about refunds?

Full refund policy lives on /legal/refunds. The short version: if Davar charges you for a community you didn’t intend to keep, write us at support@davarcommunities.com and we’ll sort it out. Member refunds are between you and your members — you control that money, so you control that decision.

  • Will there be a mobile app?

Davar works on your phone today — the whole platform is responsive and built mobile-first in the browser. A dedicated native app may eventually ship, but we’re not making promises about if or when. Yup. We’d rather tell you that straight than commit to a date we’d miss.
